ouch! Before the season I figured that we’d need 5 points a month to be comfortable and, after looking at the schedule in August, I thought we had a chance for two or three 3 match winning streaks. Those goals seemed so moderately conservative at the time.

What stands out for me is the number of draws, especially at the beginning of the season - there’s a sequence there where we only lost one in eight games, which sounds great until you realise we only won one of those eight as well.
I remain convinced that we weren’t too far off the mark during the early part of Sanchez’s reign… at least we used to attack teams properly then!
Then we lost confidence and it all started to go wrong…
