He thought we did well in the first half, which I agree with, and that we lost it a bit in the second half.
He also mentions that we over-elaborated a bit going forwards in the first half, which is something we noticed too. Nobody was taking the shots that were on. Anyway, on we go. Even if we’d been in good form the most likely result was always a home win.
Roy seems pretty down in that interview to me. Telling, I thought, that when asked whether he was confident we could stay up (a question he’s always offered a resounding ‘yes’ to) he did not directly answer - instead skirting round it by saying well we’ve got ground to make up and other people will think it unlikely, although he certainly has confidence in his players. In other words, his confidence that we will survive has taken a bit of a blow after today.
