Not Fulham, but an examination of when athletes are born that’s actually quite interesting…

“Lee Cook” says he’d consider a move to Charlton
“Ever since I’ve been here, I’ve been trying to impress Alan Pardew and if Charlton made an offer for me and Fulham were willing to let me go then of course I would be interested. The ball is in Fulham’s court, though. If they want me to stay with them then I am more than happy to do so, but that is something to think about in a few weeks’ time, not now.”
It’s not saying much I suppose, but still. This sort of thing never feels right. Just shut up and play.
Welsh wing wizard will win ‘ward
Simon Davies gets his dues on the official site. Aaron Hughes leads the backslapping:
I hadn’t played with him before so I didn’t realise how good a player he was,” Hughes told fulhamfc.com. “Certainly this season he’s arguably been the most consistent player in the team.
“I’d go as far as saying he could be our player of the season. In every game he’s played he’s set himself a standard. He’s got lots of ability which he demonstrates on the pitch every Saturday.
Amen. To my mind Davies isn’t far removed from the likes of Mikel Arteta, David Bentley, and Yossi Benayoun, players who make handy contributions to teams much higher in the league than us. It was suggested recently (b+w geezer?) that Davies has accounted for about half of our goals this year, either by scoring himself or making an important and direct contribution to someone else’s finish. That’s staggering really. We’re lucky to have him and he’s clearly our player of the year. Last year McBride won this award almost by process of elimination. This year Davies should win it convincingly and on merit.
