(At least in the US) kids born in August, September and October typically go through their school years being the oldest in their class. So, maybe this translates to increased playing time in youth sports, and thus more time to develop and gain experience. The July kids were always the youngest, so it would make some sense that they get stuck on the bench most of their lives.

Yep. I’ve heard this as well and have two sons born in May and November who may yet get to prove the theory for me personally. If nothing else it goes to explain why I never got to play professional football and score that winning goal for Fulham in a Cup Final! :o)
