Hang on a sec - the late and very much lamented Humphrey Lyttleton was an OE!
But then again, so is Will Buckley who has written some of the snottier reports of Fulham matches in the Observer (but he’s also a Chelsea fan, which may have more to do with it)
Ah, I like Old Etonians (from the couple I’ve met) - very amusing and quite similar to Boris in some ways. Not wishing to generalise, but I wonder if someone of that background is best suited to run modern london?
But Will Buckley… hmm. Didn’t know that, but makes sense. I was one of those who wrote in to whinge after one of his reports, not a fan. He seemed hell bent on putting us and our club down when really there was no need to do so. Anyway…
As you have noticed he has a track record of putting us down in his reports. To be fair to him, though, he wrote what I thought was a pretty balanced piece on the Liverpool game a couple of weeks back.
I was quite surprised - I even contemplated writing in to compliment him on this - but then I remembered it was Will Buckley and figured I would want to see a sustained improvement before doing this.
Perhaps the emails to the Sports Editor actually had some effect!

Defnitely an OE.

they did. They had an editorial meeting to discuss it (among other things I’m sure). And after that he’s been pretty good.
