Video of David Healy here. He rambles on in a footballery way for a minute, but in the middle says “we’ve Hull away to start with and then Arsenal on Monday night and Man Utd second or and third game”. So maybe he knows something we don’t.
Panic over. I misheard. Sorry about that.
Hakan Yakin in talks.
Frederik Stoor, right back, of Rosenberg:
Several English clubs have shown interest for Fredrik Stoor after his breakthrough for both Rosenborg and the national team. Now Fulham have made a bid.
“We have received an enquiry from Fulham, but I will not tell the size of the bid,” director of sports Erik Hoftun tells Norwegian daily Trønder-Avisa.
Rosenborg are willing to sell the right back.
“We have just extended the contract with Fredrik, and we are of course interested in keeping him. But this is football. If the bid is good enough, we will sell,” Hoftun says.
I shall try to attribute these when I get time.
UPDATE: Tony Kallio signs for 2 more years. Which is intriguing. Perhaps he wasn’t fully fit last year.
Deceptive title to lure people in! He he.
On July 19th I’m taking part in a Football Marathon for Tackle Africa (http://www.tackleafrica.org/)
In a nutshell, Tackle Africa does the following:
“Using football to reach young people in Africa to increase their understanding of HIV/ AIDS and enabling them to live safe and healthy lives. Football is the world’s most popular sport – and in Africa it has attained enormous significance, breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for even the most disadvantaged to shine. By capitalising on this interest, TackleAfrica and its local partners can create a platform that can be used to as a tool for communicating vital messages, mobilising communities to join the fight against HIV, enabling people to protect themselves properly and challenging the plethora of stigma and misconceptions that surround the disease.”
What we’re doing is taking part in a huge tournament on the 19th, in which 36 teams will play one another continuously all day (12 hours!). Everyone involved is raising money, and said money goes to the charity to help the young people in Africa. My friend Gavin is helping to organise this tournament, and has been out to Africa as part of this scheme in the past, and he’s convinced that it’s really making a difference.
Anyway, please excuse the begging, but if you’d like to donate, the following link should enable you to do so:
