Stoor, forwards, whatever

Various posters on TiFF reported that we’d been negotiating with Rosenberg over Fredrik Stoor.  We offered 1.8 million, they said no, we’re presumably going to offer a bit more.

Here is a Collins John sighting.

It was frustrating – not because I had a terrible season last year but because of this injury. I always thought this tournament I would be in there. A couple of years ago this tournament [Euro 2008] was my target and if I believe in something I want it to happen. “I’m disappointed but that’s football. I’m 23 years – I’ve got a lot of years ahead of me. So I just need to get fit quickly and do what I was doing a couple of years ago.

Well there we are.  A man with a lot of talent (if you’ve forgotten, check out the numbers from three seasons ago!) but a talent that has not shown itself of late.  There are some suggestions that Collins got a bit ahead of himself after that breakthrough season, but having been on loan at Leicester and Watford he may now realise that he hasn’t made it, at least not in a professional sense.   It would appear that Roy has seen something in him and we must hope that it results in goals.  I’m half tempted to make an outlandish prediction here, but we’ll have to wait and see.  I expect our new midfield to create chances next year, could it be that Collins John is the man to put them away?

But I always look for the positive side of things.  He might never score again.  We shall see.

Erik Nevland has something to say too.

It’s in the past now. We’re just focusing on the coming season coming – it’s a big challenge and I hope we don’t make it so nerve-racking this time around. I think we’ve got a good squad of players. I think we can do better.

Right answer, Erik!  Nice one.  Let’s not dwell on last season.  This year will need plenty of focus and effort too.
