The Fulham Review 07/08: It’s here!

Filed under: General — weltmeisterclaude @ 7:26 pm

NB – if you use Internet Explorer and tried to purchase yesterday you probably hit a snag – this was a PayPal issue, which has now been fixed. Please try again!  Sorry about that…

It’s here and ready. I’ve just carried six boxes of them home, four boxes at once (which was a back busting mistake) to begin with. Ow.

Anyway, 96 pages (12 more than last year’s!) of good stuff. We got amazing feedback for last year’s, and I think this one’s better. It has:

match reports from all the games (most by me, some by JamieR)

essays on all sorts: a brilliant overview of players who left last year by Chopper; a great essay on Baird Baiting by Rob Griffin, several other articles from Jamie, a bit by Dan (With A Plum) on Clint, a couple of deadline day essays from my mate Martin, and some odds and ends from me. There’s a long appendix from Colin at Championship at Best which looks at the season statistically; very good stuff. Finally, the book contains a number of Jon “Ormondroyd” Hall’s photos.

So yeah, I’m very proud of it.

If you’d like to buy a copy (please buy a copy!) please go to www.godsfoot.com. Follow the links there to pay with PayPal. If the first couple of people to have a go could email me (see address here or the book one on the God’s Foot site) to say that it’s worked that’d be great.

As I say, please do support this enterprise, which is the culmination of hours of work (and football watching!). I’m confident you’ll enjoy the book, and I reckon it’s a bargain at the price (£5 plus £2 shipping; $10 plus $4 to the US). Last year’s books are also for sale, but are published by Crockatt & Powell, so I’d need to handle these separately. Just email me if you’d like one of those and I’ll make sure the money goes to the right place.

Finally, please spread the word!

cheers all
Rich

  3. Try again today, Nick, it seems to be okay when I try it, and several others have got through. If this still doesn’t work, let me know and we’ll sort something out. Thanks for your interest!

  7. Hi Bruno

It’s working for me. If you’re having trouble, can you perhaps go direct to PayPal? http://www.paypal.com
From there if you can send £7 to richallen7 at yahoo dot com it’s effectively the same thing…

I wonder why this is happening? Anyone up on these things?

    cheers
    Rich

  8. I think it might be an internet explorer issue – it works with FireFox but I’ve run it on IE and got the same issue…. will see what I can do.

  10. Rich – if people want to pay by cheque do they just make it out to ‘Gods Foot Books’ for £7?

What address should they post it to?

  12. I will do Rich, thanks,

I was also enquiring from the point of view of people without Paypal. Do most people have it these days?

I appreciate there are issues with releasing your address but didn’t know whether there might be merit in allowing people the option of this method? Maybe set up a PO Box address? I seem to remember they are quite cheap and easy to do. Just a thought.

  13. Hi White Noise

I would do that, but I don’t know that demand will require this. If this year’s goes well then maybe next year’s will be that much more professional!

    cheers

  17. glad to hear it, Nick – thanks.

Kemosabe – yes, I’m sure we will, but that’ll be six weeks away. And the more I can shift now the better, for carrying and standing in rain purposes!

  19. Just a couple of questions, 1) can’t I get a email address from you so that I can pay you from my Paypal account. 2) I live in Spain does the £2 cover the cost of postage to Spain.

    Comment by FFCcravencottage — July 16, 2008 @ 12:27 pm | Reply

  20. Oops just read a previous post of sending it direct to you, so I’ll be doing that now. LOL ignore the two post above.

  21. Yes, Geocities says I’ve had too much traffic going through. Rats…

you can certainly pay through paypal direct, sure. £2 is fine for Spain – trying to keep it simple.

email is richallen7 at yahoo dot com, should be fine for paypal.

    cheers!

  26. Just ordered. Everything seemed to work fine.
I plan to give the book to a great, life-time Fulham fan who faces a major op. next month. I think that eventually the NHS will treat all ageing Fulham fans with this hallowed tome.
