Oh look: Dickson Etuhu

He might be good; he might not. We will have to wait and see.

And if anyone mentions a Sunderland supporting third cousin…

UPDATE:  It’s official.  Welcome, Dickson.  Whether you’re great or rubbish I’m sure I’ll find something to like.

  1. Yeah – I spotted that Setanta item too. Sounds pretty definite. Bit scary about the price tag but who knows. Sometimes the players that appear to be shockingly bad at other clubs turn out to be just what you need. Here’s hoping.

  2. I can’t find anything about where he plays in midfield and his style (e.g. is he left-footed?) other than he would add “steel” and bag goals on occasion.

  3. Eh, I don’t see why everybody seems to be flipping out about this. Chances are pretty good that he’s not going to play much, and he’s being brought in for cover (like Kallio last season). If he does well in training/reserves and earns some first team games, great. If not, no big deal.

We’ve been loading up on high-ceiling, coachable players. Etuhu probably fits that description.

  4. exactly. If you’re building a team around Dickson Etuhu there may be trouble ahead. If he’s a third choice option for a specific role then there’s no sense in getting too wound up. As ever, time will tell.
