He is surprisingly skillful player and I thought he had a very good game. AJ has credited him with fine work for his two goals and said that he is one of the best partners he has had. He seems to think their partnership could develop into something a bit special and, in the games they have played together, Zamora seems to relish working with AJ. Am intrigued to see how they get on against Everton’s defence of Neville, Yobo, Jagielka and Lescott. They have shipped more goals than anyone else so far – so it may be the perfect time to get our first Goodison victory since Mafeking was relieved.

Awesome. This is the sort of thing I expected out of Zamora, and why I think he’s worth keeping in the squad even if he doesn’t score goals. Cross your fingers that he stays healthy!

I was thinking too: this is probably why we’re in a 4-4-2. A lot of us were expecting a 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 (you get the idea) but by having two forwards, one of whom is often on the flanks, you do probably pull defenders from where they ought to be.
