Bullard called up again

Posted in General by weltmeisterclaude on November 17, 2008

Here.

We get down on him when he doesn’t play well, but we all know that an in-form Jimmy Bullard is a huge asset to the Fulham team.   It’s sometimes hard to keep track of how good a player like him is:  first he’s clearly underrated, then his game slips subtly and at once formerly underrated player becomes overrated by fans but is still underrated by the media, then he gets called up for the England squad and he’s overrated by the media and the fans, then he plays quite well again and maybe becomes underrated again.

Anyway.  Well done that man.  I didn’t even mention him in Saturday’s report, but he had a good game didn’t he?  Some cracking shots, did everything we could’ve asked him to, with and without the ball.

If he even makes the bench, I’m probably going to order my first England jersey with his name and number on it. I look at Bully like a gifted pupil who can give you tremendous pride one moment and make you slink off embarrassed a moment later.

Speaking of Wednesday internationals, have you noticed that Simon Davies has been scratched from the Wales squad and that Hughes is off the NI squad? Both for injuries. This is of great concern to me — especially in the latter case.

I think both Hughes & Davies should be fit next week.

Jimmy played his best game since the first England call-up. I really hope he makes the bench, it would be truly massive if he get’s a cap.

Scott Parker got called up too. As we all know, it was his tackle that almost ended Jimmy’s career. Though there’s no grudges, I’d still hate to see Parker get picked over Jimmy.
