Player Form

Filed under: General — weltmeisterclaude @ 10:08 pm

Oooh, here’s a good site.  It’s a very complete player ratings site, and a good one at that.   The sort of thing that ought to have been around forever, perhaps.

Here’s the Fulham page.  I like how they’re quite restrained, with 6 being a ‘doing his job’ rating, 5 being an off day, 7 being outstanding, and 8 supposedly ‘Maradona c.86′.  Which is reasonable, I think, and keeps things simple.   The spooky thing is that I agree with most of the ratings they have awarded over the course of the season, which is encouraging in some ways.

The mad thing is that you can check every team in the country.

Anyway, check it out.  I’ll be linking to it in the sidebar as well.

  1. an interesting application, for example, is to check Cardiff City, where old friend Wayne Routledge is on fire, old friend Eddie Johnson hasn’t been great (but not disgracefully bad) and possible target Joe Ledley hasn’t been pulling up trees.

    Over at Southampton

Adam Lallana, who I’ve seen (and liked the look of) has been playing very well, and we’re linked with him. So that’s interesting too.

Volzy’s been doing well at Ipswich. Solid:

Junior Omozusi’s doing okay at Naarich.

    and so on. Good stuff.

  2. I’m missing something. Hangeland has never scored better than 7 in any match, but has an overall score of 7.74. Can someone explain the maths to me?

  3. I dunno… so does this rating system go from 5 to 8? That’s a bit confusing. Why not have it go from 0 to 3? Or 0 to 6 without half points?

  4. The higher number isn’t his average, it’s a composite score that they’ve come up with. It’s graded through the divisions, so the best players in the top division are higher than those in the leagues below.

The 5 to 8 thing is arbitrary, but keeps it within the parameters of what we can easily relate to without opening it up too much.

  5. An interesting site, thanks for that.

Could I impose upon your hospitality Weltmeisterclaude to ask whether you or any of your fine readers can add any Fulham links to my list below? -

Everyone on here seems to read very extensively online and I would be most grateful for any sites that I have missed.

(Please delete this post if I have trespassed on your good nature WMC!)
