Did anyone watch the reserves game?

What did you think?  Who played?  How did they do?

Things and stuff

Ah, January.  Dark evenings, dark mornings, misery in the air.  I slept about four hours last night, forgot to shave one half of the underside of my chin, and walked into a closed glass door at lunchtime when attempting to enter Borders (that’ll teach me, I know).   Murder One on Charing Cross Road is closing down, The Shahnaz curry house on Tooting High Street is undergoing indefinite refurbishment and our lovely neighbour upstairs is listening to “I heard it through the grapevine” (I heard it through the ceiling).  Grumble, grumble.

You’re sorry you visited today aren’t you?

But don’t be.

Clint Dempsey was player of the month “by a landslide majority”.

The Daily Mail says we are interested in Norwegian winger Trond Olsen.

Fredrik Stoor is not happy.  I said this the other day didn’t I?  On Boxing Day, Spurs away, Stoor spent almost the entire game trotting up and down the touchline.   He looked absolutely miserable.  I thought of Sisyphus as he lumbered, skipped and lolloped along all game, glowing with a grey futility.   Poor Fredrik.

Slingsby on TiFF said that Roy has been quoted in the Scandinavian press as saying that Stoor hasn’t adjusted to the new league but is trying hard.  So who knows?  John Paintsil is certainly doing the job well.

The Times says that we’re in for Watford’s John-Joe O’Toole.

Otherwise, all quiet.  I have added a new link on the right, a page on this site where I am recording all the books I read in 2009.   We’ll see how that goes but I wanted to keep track and figured I might as well do it here.   Feel free to add your own 2009 reads to the comments on that page.
