Our intrepid reporter looks down from a great height and photographs John Paintsil’s pre-match gesture. Other Fulham fans join in with said gesture. Also a good indication of what the whole thing’s like up there, a monstrous construction (a view cheapened by the nasty Sportsdirect.com logo, it has to be said). If you’ve not been up there, the stadium is right in the town centre which is really how it should be.
Cheers, Jamie.

Blimey! Have the away fans moved? I thought we used to be stuck in the right hand corner (as we’re looking).
Also, it has to be said, it looks like it’s half finished!

There’s a listed terrace of houses behind the stand on the left – so they are not allowed any higher.

Yep the away fans have now moved to the opposite corner (behind the same goal).
Funnily enough I wasn’t aiming to capture JP’s praying, let alone the fans joining in. Those things just happened to be happening when I thought “Ooh I’ll take a nice photo of this giant stadium”.
Agree that it’s a fabulous ground, and a crying shame about the Sportsdirect advert. Although if I remember correctly the corresponding words on the stand to the left (which you can see in the photo but not read) say ‘Newcastle United’… which makes more sense.

That picture’s giving me vertigo.
This is a great site! Keep it up.

That’s a great photo for many reasons. Interesting, to me, who’s never been to England, though, to see a different perspective besides the usual pitch-side professional photogs. I agree with grounds in the city centre, as well. It’s a certain sense of stability and timelessness. A photo of Stevenage Rd. does just that, for me, as well.
Thanks.
