Strange ideas about Fulham since 2006

One reasons bookshops have it difficult

The twist? Where do you think she got the pen and paper?  From the bookseller (“Can I borrow a pen and paper? I want to write down the name of a book”).  Okay, we’ve all done it, made a mental note then ordered online, but to be so bold?

To compensate I bought Atlantic by Simon Winchester, Dan Cruikshank’s A secret history of Georgian London and Akashic books’ celebrated Go the fuck to sleep.  (PS Did you know that Akashic produce really, really good crime anthologies? Well worth a look, especially as there’s probably a Noir  book set in your city. They’ve been bumbling along for ages until this surprise hit.)  The woman after me bought about five bags worth of books too, so that’s nice.  Anyway, yay – looking forward to reading these.

(This is the excellent Village Books on Wandsworth Common, where Stan and I had wandered to give Hade some time off.)
